The closing ceremony of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s centenary celebrations will begin on Friday, August 2. The alumni meeting for teachers and administrative staff will be held on Friday, August 2, at 4 p.m., followed by the alumni meeting on Saturday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. The concluding program will take place on Sunday, August 4, at 6 p.m. at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall, Civil Lines.
The centenary closing ceremony on Sunday, August 4, at 6 p.m. will be attended by the Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the University. Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar will be the chief guest. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prashant Bokare, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, and Registrar Dr. Raju Hiwase will also be present.
The event will feature the conferment of the Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana Puraskar, Adarsh Education Institution Award, Adarsh Officer Award, Adarsh Employee Award, Principal Balraj Aher Smriti Gold Medal, Outstanding Student Award, Ideal Officer Award, and Ideal Educational Institute Award.
On Friday, August 2, at 4 p.m., a get-together for teachers and administrative staff will be held, with ex-Vice-Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Dr. Pankaj Chande attending as the chief guest. The ceremony will be presided over by Dr. Prashant Bokare and Dr. Sanjay Dudhe. Students and staff will present a cultural program on this occasion.
On Saturday, August 3, Justice (retired) Vikas Sirpurkar, a former Supreme Court Judge; Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; Guardian Minister of Nagpur Devendra Fadnavis; Padmashri Neurophysician and noted scholar Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram; and ex-Rajya Sabha member Dr. Vikas Mahatme will be present. Dr. Prashant Bokare will preside over the function, with Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, Alumni Committee President; ex-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muralidhar Chandekar; Committee Secretary Dr. Kalpana Pande; and Director-in-Charge of the Student Development Department Dr. Rajesh Singh also attending. Nearly 100 former students who have been honored with prestigious positions will be felicitated. Additionally, on Saturday, August 3, at 5 p.m., a grand drama titled “Krantinayak,” based on the life of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, will be performed at Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium.
