Nagpur Police has started taking action against the contractors who ignore road safety measures in city. The Commissioner of police Dr. Ravindra Singhal had called a meeting of the contractors. In this meeting, the CP had warned the contractors that if any accident occurs due to them, an FIR will be lodged.
The police team cleared encroachments from various areas of the city. Along with this, the contractors were also reprimanded for potholes.
The Sadar Traffic Police has cleared encroachments from Cafe House Chowk and Mangalwari area. At the same time, contractors have been warned to install barricades and reflectors in the ongoing construction work on Borgaon, Gorewada, Zingabai Takli and LIC Chowk flyovers.
The MIDC Traffic police warned the contractors to install security guards for the ongoing road construction in Wadi.
The Ajni traffic police informed the contractor to install reflectors and security guards regarding the incomplete construction in the Shatabdi Chowk.
The Kamptee police has warned the concerned contractors to install barricades, speed limit lights and breakers in view of the safety of the citizens in the flyover, road cementation and metro construction work going on in the area. Along with this, warning has been given to fill the potholes on the roads.
The Sonegaon police also removed the debris from the roads of various construction works going on in the area. The contractors have been informed to install barricades and reflectors for the incomplete construction.
Sitabuldi and Cotton Market traffic police has strictly warned to put blinkers and RTO information letter on blind turns for the ongoing construction work in the respective areas. Along with this, they have also been informed to put radium strips.
Teams of Lakadganj and Indora traffic department have informed the contractors to fill the potholes, put up caution signs and install reflectors at the construction sites being carried out in the respective areas.
