To prevent the spread of dengue and chikungunya in the city, the municipal health department is focusing on fogging and spraying. Fifty workers from the Solid Waste Management Department have been assigned to these tasks throughout the city. Additionally, GPS trackers have been added to ten fogging vehicles. Fogging will take place both in the morning and evening, with operations monitored from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee City Operation Center.
A team from the Health Department, led by Additional Commissioner Aanchal Goyal, is focusing on the Dharmapeth zone on Tuesday. This area has the highest number of dengue and chikungunya cases, so the department is giving it special attention.
Additional Medical Officers have been assigned at the zonal level to take preventive measures for suspected and confirmed patients, following the Commissioner’s instructions. In addition, 1,000 Asha volunteers are carrying out a campaign to detect mosquito larvae and patients. They have surveyed 242,169 houses so far and found mosquitoes in 7,722 of them.
