The village of Varamba, located in Kamptee Taluka of Nagpur district, is living in fear as a wild cat prowls the area. Over recent days, there have been multiple reports of leopard sightings across Nagpur district, adding to the anxiety of local residents. The fear intensified when a wild cat attacked and killed two cows belonging to a local farmer, Shravan Sadashiv Mohurle, who had them tied up in his field. Although only footprints were found at the scene, it remains unclear whether the predator is a tiger or a leopard.
The presence of the wild cat has brought life in Varamba to a standstill. Farmers are now too scared to visit their fields, and laborers are avoiding work altogether, causing a complete halt in agricultural activities. The villagers are pleading with the Forest Department to take swift action to capture the wild cat and ensure their safety.
