Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Gulmohar’ will be awarded the Best Hindi Film and Malayalam language film ‘Atam’ will be awarded the Best Feature Film. The 70th National Film Awards were announced on Friday by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The awards for the year 2022 in feature film, non-feature film and other categories were announced.
In the Best Actress category. Nithya Menon for the Tamil film ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ and Manasi Parekh for Gujarati film ‘Kutch Express’ were selected. Rishab Shetty, who played the lead role for Kantara, will be awarded the Best Actor Award. The Best Director award for the year 2022 will be given to Sooraj Barjatya for ‘Oonchai’.
On this occasion, Feature Film Jury Chairman Rahul Rawail informed that the Best Music Director award for the song will be given to Pritam for ‘Brahmastra’. The Best Music Director award for background music will be given to AR Rahman for ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’. The Best Costume Designer award will be given to Nikhil Joshi for the Gujarati film ‘Kutch Express’. The Kannada film ‘KGF Chapter 2’ produced by Hombale Films and directed by Prashanth Neel will be awarded the Best Kannada Film award.
The Best Supporting Actor award will be given to Neena Gupta for the film Oonchai and Pawan Raj, for Haryanvi film Fauja. Sripath will be awarded Best Child Artist, Arijit Singh Best Singer, and Jayashree will get the Best Singer awards.
Along with this, films in 11 languages will also be awarded, including Assamese film Emothi Pothi, Bengali language film Kaberi Antardhan, Kannada film KGF Chapter 2, Malayalam film Saudi Vellaka, Marathi film Valvi, Odia film Daman, Punjabi film Baaghi Di Dhi, Tamil film Punnayin Selvan and Telugu film Karthikeya-2. National Film Awards will be given at the hands of the President in October.
