Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass, recently concluded its much-anticipated inter-school sports meet, CENSPORTS 2024, with a grand closing ceremony that marked the culmination of four days of intense competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. The event, held from 12th to 17th August, brought together 1550 participants from 70 schools, showcasing their skills, determination, and passion for sports. The atmosphere was electrifying as students competed in various sports, including Archery, Skating, Lawn Tennis, and Futsal, with each event highlighting the spirit of fair play and excellence.
The valedictory function, held on 17th August, 2024, was a splendid affair graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Mangesh Pandit, the Chief Guest of the event. Mr. Pandit, a distinguished figure in the sports world, serves as the Head of the Sports Department at Centre Point School, Katol Road. His contributions as a coach, mentor, and policy maker have been instrumental in the success of VCA and the Centre Point Group of Schools. The Principal, Mrs. Perveen Cassad, along with the Vice-Principal, Mrs. Bhakti Bobde, and Mr. Chetak Khedikar, Head of the Sports Department at Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass, graced the function.
In his address, Mr. Pandit praised the spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the event and inspired the young athletes with his words of wisdom. The audience was moved by his emphasis on the importance of commitment, vision, and passion for excellence.
The closing ceremony featured a vibrant band performance that set the rhythm for the afternoon’s festivities.
The highlight of the day was the much-anticipated prize distribution, where the champions of various sports were celebrated for their remarkable achievements. Mr. Mangesh Pandit, along with the other dignitaries, gave away the prizes to the deserving winners.

In the Under-16 Boys’ category, The Third Position was secured by Pranav Gaikwad of Narayana Vidyalaya School Dhruv Mor of Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass stood second, Mohit Charmode of BKVV won the first prize. The Boys Championship Trophy was lifted by the team from BKVV. In the Under-16 Girls’ category, the Third Position was claimed by Naisha Thakkar of Centre Point School International Vibhuti Wankhade, DPS, Mihan emerged as the First Runner-up, Sharvari Shrirame of Seva Sadan Saksham School clinched the first prize. The Girls Championship Trophy was awarded to Seva Sadan Saksham School.

As the ceremony approached its climax, anticipation filled the air as everyone awaited the announcement of the Overall Championship Trophy. With a stellar performance across all events, including a gold medal in Archery, 11 medals in Skating, and a silver medal in Lawn Tennis, along with their dominant display in Futsal, Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass rightfully claimed the Overall Championship Trophy. Their consistent and exceptional performance across these four sports categories led to their well-deserved victory, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and team spirit of the students and coaches.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, where gratitude was expressed to all the participants, coaches, referees, teachers, volunteers, and the support staff who played an integral role in the success of CENSPORTS 2024. Special appreciation was extended to the management for their encouragement and to the press and media for their coverage of the event.
As the national anthem echoed through the grounds, CENSPORTS 2024 officially came to a close, leaving behind memories of the glorious event.
