Faizan Qadri, a resident of Sanjay Bagh Colony, Nagpur, was killed in a tragic road accident near Heti Saoner late last night. The incident occurred around midnight on the Saoner-Pandhurna Road when Faizan was sitting on his Activa scooter, parked near a roadside eatery.
Faizan and a worker from the eatery were fixing a nearby water valve when a speeding car struck him. Faizan sustained severe head and leg injuries and died on the spot due to excessive blood loss. The impact caused extensive damage to both his scooter and the car.
Locals who witnessed the accident rushed to the scene and apprehended the car driver. Reports indicate that four people were in the car, including a young woman. All were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and are said to be from influential families. The driver has been identified as the son of a well-known college director from Kamptee.
Two of the passengers managed to flee the scene. The police arrested the car driver, identified as Abhimanyu Porwal, a resident of Kamptee. Further investigation is ongoing. When contacted, the investigating officer refused to comment on the incident.
