Women beneficiaries of the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana’ in Nagpur district were delighted this Independence Day as many received Rs.3,000 in their bank accounts. This financial assistance, released just ahead of the Shravan festivals and Raksha Bandhan, came as a welcome relief for families.
In Kamptee, near Nagpur, women such as Savita Eshwar Gabhane and Puja Sham Jharonde from Yerakheda confirmed the deposits on their phones with help from their families. They expressed their gratitude, emphasizing how the funds would ease their household responsibilities.
The Rs. 3,000 deposits, transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts on August 15, led to a surge of women visiting banks across Nagpur to verify the transactions. As banks witnessed increased footfall, officials worked diligently to manage the rush, assisting women in verifying deposits and linking Aadhaar numbers to their accounts.
In many instances, women who hadn’t linked their Aadhaar rushed to complete the process to ensure they could access the funds. Bank staff played an essential role in guiding beneficiaries through the verification and linkage procedures.
The scheme continues to provide crucial support to women in the region, helping them build a more secure future for their families.
