International Master Anuj Shrivatri of Madhya Pradesh won the 2nd Nagpur One Day FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2024 organised by Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation in association with G.H. Raisoni Sport and Cultural Foundation at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Information and Technology, Shraddha Park, Wadi Hingna Link Road, Nagpur on 18th August 2024. IM Anuj won all games with hundred percent score of nine from nine rounds to become richer by Rs. 50000/- and a glittering trophy. The event was recognised by Chess Association Nagpur, Maharashtra Chess Association, AICF and FIDE.
IM Aditya Dhingra of Haryana, CM Arush Chitre of Nagpur and IM Anwesh Updahyaya of Orissa all scored 8 points and were placed from 2nd to 4th on the basis of tie break scores. IM Mohammad Nubeirshah Sheikh scored 7.5 points to achieve 5th position.
In the Prize Distribution Function held immediately after the last round, the Prizes were distributed at the hands of Chief Guest Shri Jaiprakash Gupta, Prominent Social Worker and Senior BJP Leader, Guest of Honour’s Shri Shashishekhar Sinha, Superintendent, Central GST, Nagpur and Shri Rahul Naidu, MD, Prathamam Manpower Services PVt Ltd & Executive Member Chess Association Nagpur. Shri Amit Gandhare, Director (PR), Raisoni Group presided over the Function. Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Organising Secretary & Secretary of Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and IA Ajinkya Pingale, Chief Arbiter were prominently present on the occasion. The program was conducted by Shri S.S.Soman who also proposed a vote of thanks.
Cash Prizes were distributed to Top 15 finishers. In addition, Prizes were also distributed to Best Veterans, Best Nagpur player, Best Unrated Player, Best Rated player between Rating 1400 to 1600 and 1601 to 1800. Trophies were given to Top 10 finishers in Under-7,9,11,13 and 15 for Boys and Girls separately.
IA Ajinkya Pingale, Mumbai was the Chief Arbiter for the event who was assisted by FA Shiva Iyer, FA Amit Tembhurne, FA Shubham Soni, FA Bharti Dhote, FA Sagar Sakhare, SNA Prayas Ambade, SNA Shrikant Bagde, SNA Sudhanshu Gaidhane, and Prathamesh Machave for smooth conduction of the event.
