The AICFB West Zone Chess Championship for the visually challenged concluded successfully at the MLA Hostel, Civil Line Nagpur, organized by AICFB (All India Chess Federation for the Blind) in collaboration with the National Federation of the Blind, Maharashtra (Vidarbha, Nagpur), and the All Marathi Chess Association for Visually Challenged (AMCVC). The tournament, which took place from 22nd August to 25th August 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from talented players across the region.
Mr. Darpan Inani from Gujrat displayed exceptional skills and determination, securing victory with an impressive score of 8 out of 9 points. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 6,000/- and a beautiful trophy for his outstanding performance. Following closely, Mr. Aryan B Joshi from Maharashtra and Mr. Atul Kakde from Maharashtra secured the second and third places, respectively.

As a testament to their exceptional skills, the top 17 players from the tournament have been selected to represent their states at the upcoming nationals.
The esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Shila Kulkarni, President Inrvhal Wheel Club, Nagpur, along with the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Pratima Kulkarni, Ex. President Inrvhal Wheel Club, Nagpur presented the prizes to the winners.
