The licence of a prominent pub on Shankarnagar Square-Ram Nagar Square road has been cancelled. Several residents had lodged complaints against the pub, which attracted young boys and girls and was operating almost throughout the night. Youth under the influence of narcotics were seen on the road near the pub disturbing the residents.
Many of them said that they parked vehicles in front of their residences, blew horns loudly or played music at odd hours in the night disturbing their sleep. The pub in a multi-storeyed building is said to have the patronage of a big political leader, a local newspaper has reported. They also urinate on the road and abuse and threaten people who object to it.
Dharampeth area residents were relieved of the problem following the action against the pub.
