The Association of Industrial Development (AID) will convene the “Tourism Policy 2024: Advantage Vidarbha Conclave” on August 31 to explore new opportunities within Vidarbha’s tourism and hospitality sector, following the introduction of the state government’s updated tourism policy.
Scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the convention hall of the Airport South metro station on Wardha Road, the event will feature Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and State Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan at the inauguration.
At a press conference on Wednesday, AID President Ashish Kale outlined the highlights of the Tourism Policy 2024. The policy provides a 20% cash subsidy on eligible project costs for tourism units such as hotels, motels, and resorts. Additional fiscal benefits include a 100% refund of net SGST paid, interest subvention on term loans up to ₹50 lakhs, electricity duty exemption, and incentives for sustainability initiatives. Kale noted that these measures are expected to significantly enhance investment in Maharashtra’s tourism sector, generate substantial employment, and potentially serve as a model for other states.
AID Vice President Girdhari Mantri, Secretary Dr. Vijay Sharma, and other members including Tejinder Singh Renu, Pankaj Mahajan, and Pranav Sharma were also in attendance at the press conference.
