The CDS School (Katol Road) proudly celebrated National Sports Day on August 29, 2024, honoring the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary Indian hockey player. The event, held on the school’s premises, featured a series of exciting sports activities aimed at promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship among students.
A special assembly was conducted where Mr. Percy Amroliwalla, Sports Coordinator, spoke about the significance of National Sports Day. He highlighted the importance of sports and encouraged students to pursue their athletic interests with passion and dedication.
In her address, School Principal Mrs. Bharti Malviya emphasized Major Dhyan Chand’s dedication and achievements, inspiring the young sports players and encouraging all students to actively participate in various sports activities. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Nirmala Simon, spoke about the importance of sports in a student’s life.
Following the assembly, the school grounds were buzzing with energy as students took part in a wide range of sports events, including athletics, football, basketball, cricket, throwball, karate, table tennis, skating, and gymnastics.
Sports teachers Mr. Ashish, Ms. Swati, Mr. Aniruddha, Mrs. Alka, Mr. Vishal, Mr. Pankaj, and Mr. Harish Choube were present at the celebrations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Vidhi Kadwe, School Head Girl. Master Yash Khot, School Head Boy, hosted the function. The goal of the celebration was to motivate students to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
