The fourth edition of DPS LitFEST 2024, a multilingual inter-school literary event, was held at Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur, on August 31, 2024. This year’s festival celebrated the vibrancy of languages, the richness of cultures, and the brilliance of young minds under one roof. With a plethora of competitions in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Sanskrit—carefully curated to captivate the imagination—DPS LitFEST 2024 offered an unparalleled platform for showcasing literary prowess and celebrating the magic of storytelling. The event expanded its horizon to encompass various languages, with participants enthralling the audience in competitions like ‘The Ink Hand,’ ‘Calli-Doscope,’ ‘Haikiga,’ ‘A Song to Remember,’ ‘Scene Stealer,’ ‘Powada,’ ‘Hindi Kavita Paath,’ and ‘Sanskrit Geet Gayan Competition.’ The festival witnessed a vibrant convergence of students from Nagpur, who participated with unbridled enthusiasm in the various events. This created a dynamic atmosphere where youthful talents flourished, and creativity knew no bounds. The energy was palpable as students showcased their skills, ideas, and passion, making the festival a resounding success.
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and creativity. The ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Aasawari Shenolikar, Deputy Editor at The Hitavada, who brought with her over 33 years of experience in journalism, lending prestige to the occasion. A distinguished panel of judges, comprising renowned experts in their respective fields, was assembled to evaluate the competitions. The panel included Sachin Jahagirdar, Founder Secretary of Vidarbha Literary Festival; Dr. Parag Bhaskar Joshi, Professor at KKSU; Mr. Anil Palkar, renowned theatre artist; Dr. Suman Keswani, Assistant Professor at Sindhu Mahavidyalay; Afsana I. Badar, a homeopath and passionate writer; and Mr. Vinod Yadav, a renowned debater and poet. These esteemed judges brought their wealth of knowledge and expertise to the event.
Ms. Tulika Kedia, President and Pro-Vice Chairperson of Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, an ardent literature enthusiast, accomplished author, and educationist committed to empowering young minds, extended her choicest wishes to the participants. Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director of Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, bestowed her blessings and good wishes upon all. Ms. Yogeeta Umalkar, the Principal, extended a hearty welcome to the gathering, paving the way for a successful event.
The event featured a vibrant Maharashtrian folk dance, showcasing the state’s rich heritage, and a mesmerizing choir performance in multiple languages, harmonizing diversity and unity. Following an impressive display of talent, creativity, and passion, the results were announced, acknowledging the winners’ achievements. DPS LitFEST 2024 successfully created a platform for students to unite, celebrate the beauty of words, and foster a lifelong appreciation for literature.
