Nagpur: In a swift operation, Kanhan Police apprehended five suspects on Saturday, August 31, in connection with the vandalism and robbery that occurred at Yog Bar and Restaurant on Friday night. The suspects have been identified as Shailesh Kanhaiya Nagpure (21) and Swapnil Gajanan Telmasre (23), both residents of Chitrashalanagar, Old Kamptee Road, Kalamna; Abdul Rahman Shah (33) from Mudliyar Layout, Shantinagar; Mayur Vishnu Borkar (20) from Kalamna; and Abhipake Arvind Gondane (24) from Ambedkar Ward, Ramtek.
According to police reports, the five individuals arrived at the bar on two motorcycles late Friday night. Four of them, armed with knives and sticks, entered the premises and began vandalizing the establishment. They caused extensive damage to the counter, glassware, and a showcase, with the total damage estimated at ₹15,276.
The suspects then proceeded to rob the bar owner, forcibly taking ₹1,000 in cash and several bottles of alcohol. Before fleeing the scene, they threatened the bar owner with death. The entire incident was captured on the bar’s CCTV cameras, which provided crucial evidence leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspects in the Kalamna area.
The police investigation is ongoing, and the arrested individuals are likely to face multiple charges, including vandalism, robbery, and criminal intimidation.
