In a shocking incident in Jaripatka, a woman was robbed at knifepoint by a young man posing as a repair technician. The victim, identified as Sonali, had sought water purifier services via Instagram and was contacted by an individual named Tejas, who claimed to represent a service company.
Sonali had installed a water purifier a year ago and needed to replace its filter. She arranged for Tejas to visit her home on Wednesday morning. At around 11:00 am, Tejas arrived while another plumber was present for unrelated work. After the plumber left, Tejas brandished a knife and threatened Sonali, demanding money and valuables.
Tejas forcibly took a gold ring and ₹60,000 in cash from Sonali before locking her house and discarding the key. Sonali managed to alert her neighbors and then proceeded to the Jaripatka police station to report the crime.
The police have filed a case against Tejas under Sections 127(2), 309(4), and 351(3) of the BNS, following Sonali’s complaint. The incident has raised significant concern in the local community.
