Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass, displayed an exceptional performance in the Shalaya Football Tournament, held at Nagpur’s Mankapur Stadium from 16th to 24th August, 2024. The school’s U-17 Girls’ football team, under the guidance of Coach Mr. Rahul Neware, represented the school with great determination and skill. The team featured players Mahika Naidu, Princee Singh, Adhya Dwivedi, Lavanya Kharabe, Zarah Hasan, Zoya Raza, Zunairah Aejaz, Saanvi Jaiswal, Palak Santoshwar, Ridhima Shrivastava, Adwita Golechha, Saumyaa Chaudhary, Aarunya Dange, Dhriti Goyadani, and Sonakshi Chopade.
Their campaign began with a convincing 3-0 victory over Sunrise School, followed by another strong performance in the quarterfinals, where they secured a 3-0 win against St. Michael’s School. The semi-final match against St. Vincent Palloti proved to be a dramatic and closely fought contest. The game ended in a penalty shootout, in which CPS, AB won by 5-4, advancing them to the final.
In the finals, CPS,AB faced St. Ursula in a challenging match, finishing as the tournament’s proud Runners-up. The team’s journey throughout the tournament was marked by dedication, teamwork, and resilience.
