City sprinter Nayan Sarde, known for his exceptional talent, will once again represent India. A trainee at Nagpur Krida Probodhini, Nayan is set to compete in the 110m hurdles at the South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) Junior Championships, which begin in Chennai on September 11. Teams from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Pakistan have also confirmed their participation in the three-day event.
Last month, Nayan, a student of Samsher Khan, became the first Nagpur sprinter to represent India in the U-20 World Athletics Championships held in Lima, Peru. A strong 55-member Indian team, including 28 boys and 27 girls, was selected by the Athletics Federation of India for the SAAF junior championship.
President of Nagpur District Athletics Association (NDAA) Gurudeo Nagrale, secretary Sharad Suryawanshi, Ram Wani, Jeetendra Ghordadekar, and other members congratulated Nayan for his remarkable achievement and wished him success in his forthcoming endeavor.
