In Effect from 6 am Saturday to 7 am Sunday
The 10-day Ganesh Utsav is set to begin across the city this Saturday. The Chitar Oli area has already become the hub of celebrations, with citizens and various Ganesh Mandals bringing Lord Ganesha idols for installation.
Artists at Chitar Oli create Lord Ganesh idols in various sizes, which are then taken by devotees and mandals for installation. The idols are transported through Bhavsar Square and Badkas Square, leading to traffic congestion, especially in the narrow lanes of Chitar Oli. To prevent traffic jams, the Traffic Police Department has implemented restrictions and diversions in the area from 6 a.m. on Saturday until 7 a.m. on Sunday.
The one-way road from Badkas Square to Bhavsar Square through Chitar Oli will remain open for traffic. However, traffic from Bhavsar Square to Badkas Square via Chitar Oli will be halted.
Traffic from Bhavsar Square passing through Chitar Oli will be diverted to Badkas Chowk via Gandhi Putla Square. Additionally, traffic between Badkas Square and Shahid Square will be restricted up to Gandhi Putla Square.
Traffic from Badkas Square will be diverted through Chitnis Park Road towards Agrasen Square. Similarly, traffic from Shahid Square will be redirected towards Darodkar Square.
