The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Special Public Prosecutor Pravin Pandit Chavan, and senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Pournima Gaikwad and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sushma Chavan. They are accused of conspiring to frame Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in fabricated criminal cases.
The case stems from audio and video recordings submitted by Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis, allegedly showing a plot to implicate BJP leaders. The accused are charged with fabricating evidence, manipulating raids, and registering false cases under severe charges like the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The CBI continues its investigation into the alleged conspiracy.
