The excitement surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s much-anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour has been overshadowed by concerns over rampant black-marketing of tickets. Pre-sale tickets, which sold out in record time, have resurfaced online at massively inflated prices, leaving fans frustrated.
The pre-sale, which began on Tuesday at 12 pm exclusively for HDFC Pixel Credit Card holders, saw an astounding 1 lakh tickets sold within just 15 minutes. Tickets for the Silver section, originally priced at ₹1,499, were later increased to ₹1,999, but even then, they sold out in minutes. The demand for the Gold (standing) area, priced at ₹3,999, and premium sections like Fan Pit Phase I and II, priced at ₹9,999 and ₹12,999 respectively, was even higher.
However, soon after selling out, many of these tickets appeared on various online resale platforms at exorbitant markups. Some tickets are now being listed for as high as ₹21,000, over 10 times the original price. This has caused outrage among fans who were unable to secure tickets during the pre-sale and now face the dilemma of either missing out on the event or paying inflated prices.
Social media has become a battleground, with fans expressing their anger at the black-marketing.
