The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has reopened its online portal for CA final exam form submissions, which had been closed on August 23. The site resumed operation on September 11 at 11 a.m., providing students across the country an additional two days to complete their applications.
The CA final exams are scheduled to take place from November 1 to November 11 this year. The online application portal, initially launched on August 7 and closed on August 23, had imposed a late fee of ₹600.
In response to student requests, ICAI decided to extend the application period by reopening the site for two days. This move follows discussions at the senior levels of the institute.
Additionally, ICAI has announced a shift in the examination schedule for Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Foundation exams, which will now be held thrice a year, as opposed to the previous twice-yearly schedule. Consequently, the deadline for online applications for these exams has been reduced from 28 days to 17 days to improve the management of examination centers, evaluation processes, and timely results declaration. This 17-day deadline will also apply to the CA Final exams and all future examinations.
The institute emphasized the importance of adhering to this new deadline. Some Chartered Accountants have noted that this is the first extension in many years, and they believe the decision will benefit a large number of students.
