Dr. Anshuja Kimatkar from Gandhi Ward, Ramtek, has created a unique Ganesh idol using plastic caps from injection vials, now on display at her clinic. The eco-friendly creation has garnered a lot of attention, attracting many visitors eager to see the innovative artwork.
A Limca Book Record holder, Dr. Anshuja Kimatkar is renowned for her artistic talents. In 2019, she secured a spot in the Limca Book of Records for crafting a Ganesh idol from discarded greeting cards. For the past three years, she has continued her creative tradition by making Ganesh idols from different materials during Ganeshotsav. In 2022, she used disposable glasses, while in 2023, seashells became her medium of choice.

This year, in 2024, Dr. Kimatkar, a practicing doctor, created a beautiful Ganesh idol using colorful caps from injection vials, items typically discarded after hospital use. Highlighting the importance of recycling, she remarked, “Art can be created from various useless items.”
In addition to her artistic projects, Dr. Kimatkar is actively involved in community work. Through her Matrika Foundation and the Ramtek Srishti Saundarya Group, she leads initiatives such as tree plantations, women’s cricket training, swimming, cycling, health camps, and adventure camps.
