The holiday for Eid-e-Milad, scheduled for Monday, September 16, will remain unchanged in Nagpur district, as confirmed by District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar. The decision was made during a meeting on Saturday with representatives from various Muslim community organizations, held at the District Collector’s office.
Despite concerns raised due to the close proximity of Eid-e-Milad and Anant Chaturdashi on September 17, local authorities determined that there were no security concerns necessitating a shift in the holiday. While some districts, including Mumbai, have rescheduled the Eid-e-Milad processions and holiday to September 18, Nagpur will observe the festival as planned.
Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravindra Singhal and Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) Harsh Poddar were also present during the meeting.
