Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Sunday that state assembly elections are likely tpo be held in the second week of November, with seat-sharing among government allies to be finalised within the next 8 to 10 days.
Shinde casually discussed with journalists at his official house ‘Varsha’ in Mumbai that a two-phase election would be better for the state assembly’s 288 members.
The Mahayuti administration, which included Shinde’s Shiv Sena, the BJP, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP, is focused on development and welfare initiatives and receiving positive feedback from the public, he added.
Merit and a good strike rate will be seat-sharing criteria among Mahayuti allies,” added the CM.
Shinde stated that he can see support for the administration among women and that his government is for the ordinary man. “We have struck a balance between development and welfare schemes,” he stated.
