Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh is organizing a Vidarbha-level group singing competition, “Jagar Loksanskriticha,” to celebrate and preserve the region’s rich folk culture. The competition is open exclusively to amateur performers, with seasoned professionals ineligible to participate. Participants will showcase traditional folk genres such as Gondhal, Gavalan, Shetkari Geet, Bharud, and Bhulabai. Each group, with up to 6 members, will have 7 to 8 minutes to perform. Groups are also required to bring their own instruments if needed.
The winners will receive attractive prizes, along with certificates and mementos. The last day for registration is September 23.
