The Vidarbha region, including Nagpur district, is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall starting this weekend, according to the IMD forecast. September 23 marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating floods that impacted the city.
So far, the monsoon season has been normal, with Nagpur receiving 12% surplus rainfall, and Vidarbha as a whole recording a 19% surplus. Dr Praveen Kumar, forecasting in charge, Regional Meteorological Centre, reported moisture gain in the region, but without severe weather alert. “A yellow alert has been issued with thunderstorms, and lightning,” said Dr Praveen Kumar.
