On September 23, the Maharashtra Cabinet approved the establishment of two new economic development corporations aimed at uplifting the economically weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput communities.
The “Parashuram Economic Development Corporation” will focus on supporting the Brahmin community, while the “Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation” will cater to the Rajput community. Both corporations have been allocated an initial budget of Rs 50 crores each, which will be used to launch developmental programs and projects tailored to meet the specific needs of these communities.
The move is part of the state government’s efforts to promote social and economic equity among underprivileged groups, with the new corporations set to play a key role in facilitating their upliftment.
