Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s Ambitious Project
The inauguration of the ambitious Oxygen Bird Park project, spearheaded by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, is scheduled for this Saturday, September 28. The event will take place at 12 PM, with Shri Nitin Gadkari officiating the ceremony, and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis as the chief guest. The park is located at Clover Leaf, Jamtha, on Wardha Road.
The event will be graced by the presence of Ramtek Lok Sabha MP Shyamkumar Barve, MLAs Pravin Datke, Abhijit Wanjari, BJP State President MLA Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and MLAs Sudhakar Adbale, Kripal Tumane, Anil Deshmukh, Nitin Raut, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, Vikas Thakre, Sameer Meghe, Ashish Jaiswal, and Tekchand Savarkar.
The Oxygen Bird Park, conceptualized by Shri Gadkari and developed under the initiative of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is located along National Highway 44, Nagpur-Hyderabad. Spread across approximately 20 acres, the project has been completed at a cost of ₹14.32 crores. Special fruit-bearing trees have been planted exclusively for the birds. The park not only serves as an oxygen-producing zone but also provides a sanctuary for various bird species. Remarkably, the park features over 8,104 plants and spans across 11 hectares, including natural ponds.
The park is equipped with multiple amenities such as a food court, restrooms, walking paths, jogging and cycling tracks, a watchtower, an amphitheater platform, and a special play area for children. The entrance boasts an impressive architectural design. Additionally, the park is enriched with a variety of fruit-bearing plants like jamun, mango, guava, bael, tamarind, fig, khirni, peepal, custard apple, and amla, all reserved exclusively for the birds.
