Nagpur district emerged as the overall champions at the recently concluded Maharashtra State Veteran Aquatics Championships, held at the NIT pool. The event, jointly organized by the Nagpur District Veterans Swimming Association and Hanuman Sports Academy under the aegis of Maharashtra State Veterans Aquatics, saw Nagpur swimmers claim a total of 226 medals, including 84 golds, 74 silver, and 68 bronze.
Thane district finished second with 116 medals, while Nanded secured third place with 72 medals. The event was graced by notable guests K Rajkumaran, Sunil Shah, and Sanjay Lokhande. Officials Arun Sawant, Shekhar Bhavsar, Amit Saoji, Akhil Mantri, and organizer Sanjay Batwe played key roles in the meet’s success.
Prashant Ugemuge, President of Hanuman Sports Academy, awarded the medals and certificates to the winners. Acknowledging their contributions to the event, Nagpur President Amit Saoji, Secretary Akhil Mantri, Pankaj Chawla, and Sanjay Batwe were felicitated by the state association.
The prize distribution ceremony had several esteemed guests, including Bharat Bhai, Mukesh Agrawal, PK Jain, Vishal Agrawal, and Sunish Shah. The event was smoothly conducted by Pawan Mehadia, with a vote of thanks proposed by CA Gitesh UmalKar.
