Nagpur Municipal Corporation signed an MoU (memorandum of Understanding on Thursday with Tata Consultancy Engineers Limited to increase the pace of the Nag River Pollution Eradication Project.
The MoU was signed by Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari and B R Parthasarathi of Tata Consultancy. Executive Engineer Dr Shweta Bannerjee, Deputy Engineer Rajesh Dufare, Assistant Engineer Ravi Mange, Technical Advisor Mohammad Israel, Tata Consultancy’s G H Virupaksha and Sudil Mani were present.
NCRDC had cleared the proposal on September 3. NMC signed the MoU after inviting tenders and formally completed the procedure of putting signatures on the MoU on Thursday.
The Centre would provide 60 percent of the expenditure on the project. The share of the state government and NMCare 25 percent and 15 percent respectiovely. The project cost of Rs 1,927 crores and has to be completed in eight years.
