Mankapur Police have apprehended a 27-year-old man from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar for allegedly using a spy mic during the Prison Constable recruitment exam held on Sunday, September 29. Another individual involved in the case has also been booked.
The arrested candidate has been identified as Kisan Sitaram Jonwal (27), while his accomplice, Jeevan Kakarwal (29), both from Vaijapur, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, is also facing charges. Although Kisan was arrested at the examination hall, police are continuing their investigation into Jeevan’s role in the scheme.
Police sources revealed that the Prison Constable recruitment exam for the 2022-23 cycle is currently being conducted in Nagpur. Kisan, whose chest number was 25037, allegedly used a spy mic to cheat during the test, receiving help from Jeevan, who assisted in answering the questions remotely. The cheating attempt was uncovered by authorities, leading to Kisan’s arrest at the venue.
A case has been registered under Sections 318(2), (4), 61(2)(A), 223 of the BNS, along with Subsection 66(D) of the IT Act. The investigation is ongoing.
