The highly anticipated Udyojika – “An All Eves’ Exhibition,” organized by the Ladies Entrepreneur Wing (LEW) of the Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) in association with Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede Trust is set to take place from 3rd to 7th October 2024 at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur. This prestigious event has become a beacon of opportunity for women entrepreneurs, providing them a platform to showcase and market their innovative products, fostering business growth, and encouraging networking and community engagement.
Inaugural Ceremony: The event will be inaugurated on Thursday, 3rd October 2024, at 4:00 PM by our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City. We are also honored to have Smt Sunanda Bajaj, Asstt Commissioner of District Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Nagpur, as our Guest of Honour. The concluding prize distribution ceremony will take place on Monday, 7th October 2024, at 7:00 PM, featuring Smt. Shomita Biswas, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Maharashtra State, as the Chief Guest.
We will also welcome notable guests throughout the exhibition, including Ms. Snehal Dhokey, ITS, Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade, Nagpur on 4th October, Smt. Pragati Patil, President BJP Women Wing, Nagpur on 5th October, and Ms. Yogita Dangre, CEO – Gram Panchayat Nildoh, Nagpur on 6th October.
Now in its 27th year, Udyojika has evolved from a small initiative into a cornerstone event in Nagpur’s business calendar. In collaboration with the Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede Trust, this exhibition honors the legacy of the late Smt. Kusumtai Wankhede. This year, we are excited to feature 120+ women entrepreneurs showcasing a diverse array of innovative products, including garments, imitation jewelry, health care products, handicrafts, home decor, herbal goods, and much more.
Introducing the Food Zone: A key highlight of Udyojika 2024 is the new Food Zone located on the first floor of the hall, where visitors can indulge in a wide variety of live food stalls and enjoy a display and sale of dry food items. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kundatai Vijaykar for graciously allowing us to utilize this space, which will offer ample seating for guests to relax and savor the culinary delights on offer.
Supporting Rural Artisans: In a significant step towards promoting rural entrepreneurship, this year we are proud to feature 15 rural and tribal artisans from Vidarbha, supported by SIDBI. These artisans hail from Bhamragadh, Gondia, Melghat, Chandrapur, and Bhandara, showcasing unique and heritage-rich products such as Mahua items, bamboo and metal crafts, Ayurvedic goods, handicrafts, and Gond paintings.
Special Initiatives: This year, the VIA LEW is proud to offer free stalls to college students and startups, allowing them to showcase their talents in dress and jewelry design. This initiative provides invaluable exposure to the real market and constructive feedback.
A series of competitions will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM during the exhibition:
- 4th October: Competition on “Upaya: Solutions to Business Challenges”
- 5th October: Extempore Speech Competition on “Rapid Fire Business Mind: Technology and Sustainability”
- 6th October: Competition and Showcase for emerging jewelry designers “Startup Dreams: From Concept to Commerce”
Udyojika will also feature awards for Best Presentation, Best Marketing, Best Salesmanship, Best Food Stall, and Best Rural/Tribal Stall.
Every evening at 7:00 PM, attendees can look forward to surprise gifts and lucky draws. This event promises to blend business opportunities, inspiration, and enjoyment for all participants.
