After a three-month hiatus, Pench, Bor, and Umred-Paoni-Karhandla Tiger Reserves are set to reopen for tourists starting October 1, allowing offline bookings for limited jungle safaris. Gates like Sillari, Khursapar, Banera, and Chorbahuli at Pench will be accessible until October 15, depending on road conditions and the weather.
A 20 km route in Bor Tiger Reserve will also reopen, while some routes in Umred-Paoni-Karhandla remain unsuitable for tourism due to road conditions. Tourists can make online bookings for safaris starting October 16 via the official Maha EcoTourism website.
Meanwhile, all gates of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) will reopen from October 2. After being closed since July 1 due to monsoon conditions, the roads have been upgraded to ensure smooth access for visitors. TATR’s buffer zone gates will continue to be monitored based on rainfall.
Between March and June 2024, over 85,000 tourists visited TATR, highlighting its continued popularity.
