An inter-state gang that stole mobile phones from showrooms and sold them in Nepal has been busted and two members have been arrested. The police went to Uttar Pradesh and arrested both the accused. The accused had stolen mobiles and other e-gadgets worth 24 lakhs from Nagpur. Goods worth 17 lakhs have been seized from them. The team of Hudakeshwar police station took this action.
Sachin Gawande, a resident of Dighori, owns a mobile shop in Smriti Nagar. On September 13, thieves broke the shutters and stole 89 mobile phones, buds, neckbands and watches worth a total of Rs 24.32 lakh.
Hudakeshwar police registered a case and started investigation. The police checked more than hundred CCTV footages and traced the accused through mobile surveillance. The investigation team was then sent to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
There the police traced the address of Mohammad Mustaqeem alias Salman Mohammad Mursaleen (23). The police kept watch on his way and finally took him into custody. He confessed to the crime. His other accomplice Mohammad Shahzad Mohammad Farooq (42, resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh) was also arrested.
