In a shocking incident, a 42-year-old software engineer from Sus, Pune, and his wife were allegedly chased and attacked by a group of men on motorcycles on the Lavale-Nande Road late Saturday night. The couple’s car was reportedly damaged with iron rods in an attempt to stop them near Nande village.

The couple was pursued by the attackers until they reached their home in Sus. Following the harrowing ordeal, the victim, Ravi Karnani, lodged a police complaint.
According to the complaint, the couple was attacked by a group of locals armed with sticks and rods. The attackers, using two motorcycles and a car, chased the couple’s vehicle at speeds of 80 km/h, attempting to force them to stop.
Karnani shared the ordeal on social media, stating, “We were attacked by a group of around 40 people at different spots, armed with iron rods, stones, and sticks. They chased us at 80 km/h, and the local police sided with them, claiming they were patrolling.”
The incident occurred while the couple was returning from dinner at a friend’s place in Bhukum near Bhugaon around 1:30 am. Karnani recalled seeing a group of people with iron rods, signaling him to stop, but when he didn’t, two motorcycles began chasing their car, hitting it with rods in an attempt to force them to halt.
