The much-awaited Kamptee Road Double-Decker Flyover has finally opened to the public. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the flyover on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said, “Nagpur has now become a flyover city along with Orange City,” congratulating the people of Nagpur at the inauguration ceremony.
Gadkari stated that the opening of the flyover will not only provide relief to the public from the traffic jams on Kamptee Road but will also save time. The Union Minister remarked, “The work which is not being done in Asia is being done in Nagpur. Nagpur has become the first city in Asia to have a four-level traffic system.”
Calling the flyover a boon for the city, the Union Minister announced that beautification will be carried out from LIC Chowk to Automatic Chowk with a cement road, funded by the CRF.
Gadkari also revealed plans to convert Gaddigodam Chowk into a fruit and vegetable market. He said, “The condition of the market is very bad. It will be developed. The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation will be given the work and an AC-equipped market will be built. During this, no shopkeeper will be displaced. Rather, they will be allotted shops equipped with all the facilities under the government formula.
