The Maharashtra Government has issued a notification changing the name of Ahmednagar as Ahilyanagar.
The proposal made on October 1, has been published in the gazette on October 4. The name of Ahmednagar district and tehsil will now be Ahilyanagar district and tehsil, infoms Deputy Secretary D B More as per the orders of the Governor of Maharashtra.
