Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received a bomb threat via email on Saturday night, prompting an immediate response from the police. The email not only targeted the Indore airport but also threatened to blow up other airports across the country.
“We received a threat email last night. The sender threatened to attack multiple airports. Based on the application from the CISF airport security team, we have registered an FIR. Our objective is clear—we will get to the bottom of this,” said Additional Commissioner of Police Amit Singh.
This marks the fourth bomb threat received by Indore Airport this year. The threatening email was reportedly sent via the dark web, complicating efforts to trace the perpetrator. Singh assured that technical teams are working diligently to identify those responsible. “We are maintaining close coordination with the airport authority and remain on high alert, though no suspicious items have been found so far,” Singh added.
In a related incident, Vadodara Airport in Gujarat also received a bomb threat via email on Friday. ACP Vadodara GB Bambhaniya stated that all concerned departments were immediately alerted, and thorough checks of the airport’s inner and outer areas were conducted with the help of dog squads. A joint meeting involving the Central Intelligence Bureau, state intelligence, and local police was held, and the case has been handed over to the Cyber Crime Team for further investigation.
Security has been heightened at both airports, with authorities working to ensure the safety of passengers and staff amidst these threats.
