To provide prompt treatment to needy patients, five more hospitals have been added under the Ayushman scheme. This brings the total number of hospitals offering services in Nagpur to 52, up from 47, which included 9 government and 38 private hospitals.
Dr. Omprakash Shete, head of the Ayushman Bharat Mission Maharashtra Committee, announced at a press conference that ration card holders can avail free treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the scheme.
During the event, District Surgeon Dr. Nivrutti Rathod and District Health Officer Gehlot were also present. By April 1, ₹1 crore had been distributed to hospitals under the scheme.
Across the state, 47 lakh people are registered as beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat, with 15 lakh having generated their beneficiary cards. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has facilitated the availability of a digital dispensary and mobile van services in the district through CSR initiatives. He urged beneficiaries to generate their cards to avail full benefits.
The remaining 32 lakh beneficiaries in the state are encouraged to take advantage of the scheme. Even without an Ayushman card, patients can receive treatment based on their ration card, provided it is up to date, he added.
