BJP leader Munna Yadav, embroiled in a controversy following a violent altercation on October 5 involving his family members, held a press conference on Tuesday to clarify his stance on the incident. Yadav claimed that while the dispute has been mutually resolved, he believes that police personnel falsely implicated him with baseless charges. He also categorically denied any allegations of manhandling police personnel during the incident.
During the press conference at Hotel Heritage in Civil Lines, Yadav accused the Dhantoli police and DCP Zone 2 of ignoring the concerns of locals regarding illegal drug activities. According to Yadav, he had brought to light local drug rackets involved in the sale of MD and ganja. He alleged that instead of taking action, the authorities turned a blind eye, leading him to believe that his ongoing efforts to expose these activities resulted in the police framing him in the October 5 case.
Yadav went on to criticize the Dhantoli police for their inaction, claiming that areas like Takia, Anand Nagar, and Gajanan Nagar have turned into hubs for drug smuggling due to the police’s indifference.
Addressing the allegations that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis intervened on his behalf, Yadav dismissed such claims as baseless. He argued that if the Deputy Chief Minister had indeed assisted him, no charges would have been filed against him. Yadav further rejected accusations of obstructing the duties of Nagpur police, labeling them as unfounded.
