Nagpur Urban Circle has stood at the top in Maharashtra in the implementation of the Life Insurance Scheme of the Postal Department, while the Nagpur Rural Circle secured the second position in the state.
Nagpur region’s Post Master General Shubha Madhale informed the media on Wednesday that Nagpur region is divided into 11 sub-regions and has 3887 post offices. The region has nine passport service centres and processed 10,090 passport applications. The Nagpur region also have 16 ATMs. The region has 11 Post Payment Bank branches with 36.70 lakh savings accounts, of which 8,75,455 accounts were opened between July and September 2024. The majority of the accounts were opened for the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahin Yojana.
Madhal said that the Nagpur region has 248 Aadhar Service and Registration Centres. The rural areas have a post office within five kilometres. A total of 130 Postal Banks were opened to provide banking services to villagers in remote areas. The information of the postal services is available on the Dakghar Darpan 2.0 digital platform.
Madhal gave information about various schemes of the department including Mahila Sanman Bachat Praman Patra and Dak Jeevan Bima Scheme. A special cancellation stamp was also released on the occasion.
