Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 7600 crore in Maharashtra through video conference. Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for upgradation of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs 7000 crore. It will act as a catalyst for growth in several sectors including manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics and healthcare, benefiting the city of Nagpur and the Vidarbha region.
Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of a new Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport to be constructed at a cost of over Rs 645 crore. It will provide world-class facilities and amenities for religious tourists visiting Shirdi.
At the same time, in line with the objective of ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 10 government medical colleges in Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli and Ambarnath (Thane). Along with increasing undergraduate and postgraduate seats, these colleges will also provide specialized tertiary healthcare to the people.
