Two ‘Agniveers’ died during a blast in the Artillery Centre in Nashik. The blast occurred during a training session on Thursday. Another Agniveer received serious injuries and is being treated at a hospital. Devlali Camp Police are investigating the cause of the blast.
According to the police, the Agniveers were being trained at the Shingve Bahulala Firing Range. Two of them were being trained in loading cannon balls, when the blast occurred. The blast was so severe that the parts of the cannon balls entered their bodies. The three trainees were rushed to a hospital, where two – Gohil Sinh (20) and Saifat Shit (21) were declared dead. The third trainee is being treated at the hospital.
The police carried out a preliminary enquiry. The Army is conducting further enquiry.
