Riding on extended train timings, Maha Metro Nagpur clocked an impressive ridership of 1,44,059 yesterday (Saturday). The city witnessed multiple celebratory events on 12th October due to Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din, Dussehra and Ravan Dahan; disciples and viewers were part of these events and ensured Ridership Milestone for Nagpur Metro this calendar year in the process.
Maha Metro Nagpur, in anticipation of this rush had taken adequate measures in advance. The train timings were extended to 12 midnight from all four terminal stations of Khapri, Automotive Square, Lokmanya Nagar and Prajapati Nagar. The extended train timings enabled Nagpurians and even those who had come from other parts of state and country to be part of these celebrations, but also ensured comfortable and hassle-free journey for all of them.
In fact, the rush at almost all the Metro Stations was visible and could be experienced with passage of time, yesterday. Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din witnesses gathering of thousands and thousands of disciples at Deeksha Bhoomi. The disciples extensively used Metro trains for intra-city commuting purposes as activities were also organized in other parts of city.
Other than extending train timings and expecting this rush, Nagpur Metro had taken other measures by deploying adequate manpower at metro stations in the form of Ticket Counter Staff, Security Guards and House Keeping Staff.The basic purpose of this deployment was to ensure enhanced journey experience to the commuters and the increased Ridership is testimony to the Maha Metro Nagpur efforts in that direction.
Vijaya Dashmi or Dussehra, symbolises the culmination of 9-day Nav Ratri Utsav and this festive mood was captured by Nagpurians who ventured out of their houses till late night and used Metro train for their transport needs. Maha Metro Nagpur thanks Nagpurians and all others who opted for Metro journey and helped in reaching its yesterday’s Ridership close to 1.5 Lakh.
