IndiGo announced on October 14 that two of its Mumbai-based flights received bomb threats. The airline reported that flight 6E 56 from Mumbai to Jeddah and flight 6E 1275 from Mumbai to Muscat were both targeted by the threats.
“As per protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolated bay, and following the standard operating procedures, mandatory security checks were promptly initiated,” an Indigo Spokesperson said in a statement.
Earlier, Air India’s Mumbai to New York flight also faced a bomb threat, prompting its diversion to Delhi for security checks.
“The aircraft is currently stationed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, and all standard safety protocols are being diligently followed to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew on board,” a senior police officer told PTI.
