Nagpur: In a proactive measure to ensure security during the upcoming Maharashtra State Assembly elections, the state police administration has announced the cancellation of all leaves for officers and personnel from November 15 to November 25, 2024. The elections are set for November 20, followed by vote counting on November 23.
The directive, issued by Dr. Chhering Dorje, Special Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) and State Police Coordination Officer for the Maharashtra Assembly General Elections 2024, aims to bolster security and maintain peace throughout the election period. Leaves will only be permitted for medical reasons, allowing for a robust police presence to address any potential incidents during this critical time.
