Women voters could significantly influence the outcome of the upcoming Assembly elections in the district, as approximately 58% of the new voters registered after the recent Lok Sabha elections are women. Notably, the State Government has been actively promoting the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna,’ a monthly financial support scheme aimed at women.
As per the data released by the district authorities, total number of registered voters in district as of October 15 has reached 44,94,784 from 42,72,366 registered voters on March 27 before Lok Sabha elections. Out of 2,22,418 new voters registered during this period, 1,29,782 are women making 58.30% of new regis- tered voters.
