In a significant move to curb unauthorized vender, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway conducted a surprise drive on 16th October 2024, targeting Train No. 12290 (Nagpur-CSMT). The operation was part of the division’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and hygienic travel experience for passengers.
A team of three Commercial Inspectors meticulously planned and executed the drive. To maintain the element of surprise, the team members boarded the train from Nagpur Station posing as regular passengers, with only minimal details shared about the operation beforehand. After crossing Khapri station, the team sprang into action and apprehended four unauthorized vendors.
The operation led to the apprehension of five vendors who were found illegally selling cooked food items, unauthorized water bottles, packaged snacks, soft drinks, and tea/coffee from a hot camper. These vendors were de-boarded at Butibori station, where they were handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with the confiscated goods and forged documents.
Central Railway’s Nagpur Division remains steadfast in its mission to maintain strict vigilance against unauthorized activities to protect the interests and safety of passengers. Through such continuous efforts, the division strives to offer a clean, safe, and reliable travel experience for all.
