In an effort to ensure that no one is deprived of their voting rights in the upcoming Assembly elections, the district administration has announced special arrangements for elderly citizens above the age of 85 and persons with disabilities (PWD) to cast their votes from home. District Collector and Returning Officer Dr. Vipin Itankar made this announcement on Thursday during a meeting focused on the smooth conduct of elections across the district’s constituencies.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Nagpur Zilla Parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni, District Superintendent of Police (Rural) Harssh Poddar, Additional District Collector Tushar Thombre, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Shweta Khedkar, Deputy Election Officer Praveen Mahire, and representatives from various departments such as police, income tax, transport, railway, excise, and civil aviation.
Instructions for Easy Voting Access
Dr. Itankar directed the officials to ensure that necessary arrangements are made to simplify the voting process for elderly individuals and PWDs. Special efforts will be taken to enable these groups to exercise their voting rights easily and safely from their homes.
